ST-1500 Symmetrical Antenna Tuner

The ST-1500 tuner is a fully symmetric PI-Network tuner for use with balanced line antenna systems.

This tuner is comprised of 2 roller inductors and 2 air variable capacitors. The inductors have a maximum value of 20uh and the capacitors have a maximum value of 300pf. The tuner also has a set of fixed value capacitors (400pf) that can be switched in individually, if required, to account for highly inductive antenna systems. These caps can be easily replaced with other doorknob style capacitors if different values are required for a specific antenna system situations.

The ST-1500 is capable of full QRO operation and is capable of tuning to an SWR of 1.0:1 on all bands from 160 meters through to 10 meters. This includes tuning on both the high and low sides of each band. Analysis with a RigExpert AA-55 has shown that the ST-1500 is capable of achieving a return loss of 50db, when tuned to an SWR of 1.0:1. This is a significantly excellent value for return loss and is directly attributable to the quality of materials used and precision machine work.

The ST-1500 is built with all custom made components. This includes the roller inductors, capacitors, reduction drives, turns counters, shaft RF isolators, RF switch and case. All parts are made in the US by Blue Ridge Amateur Radio of North Carolina.
